A Good Reason To Make Your Own

Post by Tal »

Besides the fact that it tastes better and is way cheaper...this is another reason to stay home and indulge...check this out...came into force here in New Zealand today the 1st December.

New drink driving laws come into force today, cutting the alcohol limit almost in half in a bid to crack down on the number of alcohol-related incidents on New Zealand roads.

From today, anyone caught with over 250 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath will be hit with a fine of up to $200 and receive 50 demerit points.

Drivers caught a second time risk losing their licence for up to three months.

Meanwhile, the alcohol limit for drivers under the age of 20 will remain at zero.

Women are advised to be particularly careful because they have less body water than men to absorb alcohol.

Police hope the new laws will help keep repeat offenders off the road and say the new lower limit is being welcomed by many New Zealanders.

The AA says the lower limit reinforces the message to the public that drinking and driving is unacceptable.

(AA here is Automobile Association....not the other one!) :)

A bit anti social though. I'd rather have a bad beer at the pub than the finest rum at home on me own.

You think that's bad. How about the new speed limits. Used to be a 4km/h threshold. Now it's down to 1km/h

This new law is in addition to the current law that if you are over 400 its instant loss of licence.

I wouldn't get on a bike after drinking. Not again. Did you know you can still get a ticket for DIC on a push bike. I didn't. But I do now. Lol

I know that, but a cop would have to chase me on a bike to catch me on the way home and they don't have one between them.

Our local Plod visited my pub this afternoon with his tester so that we could get some idea of what we can get away with. All of the drivers were ok except for one who had only had two low alcohol beers, LOL. He passed twenty minutes later.

I scored a fail.
