Question about wine.......
Wasn't sure where to put this topic ......if it is wrong place, my apology.....any way, I have a friend of mine that makes wine. He made a 10 gallon batch of Onion wine (an experiment). He does not like the flavor it created. He gave the 10 gallons (minus 2 glasses) to me. I am building a Boka Column for my pot still. I read the threads on using the Boka and doing a spirit run. My question is if I run the wine slow using the Boka, will it remove the "oniony" flavor and give me a good clean spirit? And also since it is 13%, I should get about 1.3 gallons after the spirit run is done, with about 3/4 gallon of hearts, correct?
Re: Question about wine.......
.should take almost all the taste out. I've tried onion wine taste awful unless ya add salt and pepper to it.never saw where two spices changed the flavor of anything so much
I use a pot still.Sometimes with a thumper
Re: Question about wine.......
the first taste was enough for me!!! When I finish the Boka this weekend.... I will have to see what happens (after the cleaning run, already have a 2 gallon simple sugar for cleaning)....I will post what the end result is....

Re: Question about wine.......
