There are a few here that have a clawhammer, I don't. You may want to consider building your own. Manufacturers of stills have been required to hand over their customers names etc to the TTB. Clawhammer may or may not be required, I don't know.

The Clawhammer 5gal is a solid design and Kyle is great to deal with. You'll have to decide if having pre-cut parts is worth the premium over sourcing your own. Either way, you still need to be comfortable with metal working and have solid torch / soldering skills.

I built a 5 gal clawhammer over christmas break. Watch the you tube videos first.

The fit quality was excellent. My only complaint is he is so paranoid about selling a still kit, he never shows the finished kit in a form that would actually work as a still.

I added a temp gauge to the boiler, and another one at the top. He sells them as add ons, but I bought mine at the local beer supply place.

I also added a union at the top to separate the column into two pieces for easier cleaning and storage.

I added 3/4" garden hose fittings to the cooling jacket connections to make it simple to connect the cooling lines.

It works great.

That's because he sells pieces of sheet copper. What you do with it is up to you. Get it? :ewink:

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you. Maybe he knows something.
