I have searched and searched and found a couple very useful calculators, but Im looking to find a calculator (or formula) that can tell me proof after 2 adding specific amounts of 2 differently proofed liquors togethers.
The most useful calculator I have (the "proofing-calculaor.xls") assumes one liquid is a specific proof and the other liquid is water. Im trying to find one i can plug in two different proofed liquids to.
For example:
30 ounces of 148 proof plus 64 ounces of 130 proof equals 94 ounces of ____ proof.
Am I having a major brain fart and there is some super simple formula Im missing?
I can't proof it once its mixed thats the problem. Its a maceration with sugar so the hydrometer won't read true. But it seems my wife came up with the same answer as skipper so I suppose she'll be my calculator haha. Skipper, mind telling me how you came up with that?
This is how we (she) came up with it.
74% of 30 ounces = 22.2 oz
65% of 64 ounces = 41.6 oz
22.2 + 41.6 = 63.8 oz
30 + 64 = 94 oz
63.8/94 = .678
67.8% = 135.74 proof
I don't understand the proof points part.

Okay I see now. I guess I WAS having a brain fart. Didn't realize it was that simple I was way overthinking it. But at least I learned something new! Thanks buddy!
