As I have my rice cooking away now, quite beautifully I might add, I am going to be making a reflux head/column
I had initially decided on a 2 inch boka( or bigger). I was also considering using a vertical Liebig as the condensor as I didn't want to putts around with winding a coil.
Having revisited rads concentric build, I am considering using that setup as it would allow me to run it both ways with one setup, and I like how condensed it is.
I also have a few modifications I can already see as potential if I do go this route.
Now here is where I need your input.
I am looking for advice and reasons for or against each, or if someone has a different setup suggestion I would love to hear it.
Now to keep this easy we need to set some fixed variables.
These don't change based on design.
Boiler = 15.5 gallon keg.
Power source = propane ATM, going electric.
Column height- 4ft (condensor is added to this.
Product- base neutral sugar wash, 10abv. ( they won't be this high in real life, but to keep it even and simple, this is a simple approach.
Boiler charge - again for ease of use, 10 us gallons.
What I want to know.
Approx run times (not including heat up, and assume shut down once 20%abv is reached in an inline sample.
Ease of use- while each setup will have its own run procedures, which would be a better suited option?
Consistency
If you have run both, I would really appreciate your input. If you have run either of them please chin in with what you know based on your rig.
