Golden Barrel Molasses

Post by cantbuyathrill »

I searched on the forum but nothing seemed to come up. Anyone have any experience with the Golden Barrel Molasses? It's a decent price - I can get 50 gallons delivered for a little under $90

I checked out your link, how do I get a deal like you are getting? I have been paying $10.00 a gallon for Golden Barrel locally. It is very good molasses!

Is the shipping higher or something? heck if I know. I do have it "checked" to deliver to "business".

You sure you got those numbers right? Less than $90 for 50 gallons is less than $1.80 per gallon. Delivered??? I can't imagine how much 50 gallons of molasses must weigh. Shipping is usually determined by weight. I would imagine the shipping cost for something as heavy as molasses would be more than the price of the molasses. The website says, $26.49 for a 5 gallon bucket and doesn't give the shipping cost. Are you getting yours from that website?

I went through all the motions to order except putting my cc info in. It allowed me to calculate my shipping. I'll probably buy some today and I'll let yall know if the deal goes through as advertised.

5 gallons of molasses weighs about 55 pounds US, maybe that's the disconnect.

If you went through all the steps, is there some reason you can't tell us what they're charging for shipping, or do we all need to go repeat the process to find out for ourselves? What quantity did you plug into your order process? What was the advertised deal - 50 gallons for $90? Where is that deal advertised?

You don't seem to be very forthcoming with answers to the questions being asked of you. You posted up a fantastical deal and don't seem to be willing to give any details about it. What's up with that?

What the fuck, dude? Go through and figure it out for yourself. I posted the damn link. It ain't goddamn rocket science!!! I just haven't figured out if I want to spend the $90 on the product yet.

Absolutely bizarre! The link it posted. Not trying to "hide" any thing.

The 5 gallon pail is not available. So unless they sell it in a 50 gallon drum your not going to get any short of single gallon containers.

There is some kind of typo in your first post. They don't sell 50 gallons of molasses, deliverd, for under $90.

I have not used their blackstrap, but I have used their "supreme" baking molasses and I have been really happy with the rum. It's my first rum, so I don't have anything else to compare it to, been thinking about getting 5 gallons of the blackstrap to compare.

Call a local baker's supply store... should be around 40$ for 5 gallons from them... may want to go to a local donut store or bakery and ask who delivers locally... and how often... they usually delivery for free to businesses

I pick up 5 gal pails in Crete IL for $36 for light (fancy molasses) and a little less for BS. Bakery supply is the way to go.

The website in the OP has gallon containers sold 4 per case for $23.99. The shipping is $25.25 per case. Didn't find any 50 gallon quantity for $90 shipped. Maybe if you buy 10 five gallon buckets, they ship it for $90. They DO seem to have discounts for quantity - both price and shipping, but I don't think it's realistic to expect 50 gallons for $90 delivered.

I've been to their facility and purchased from them numerous times. Finest quality and good honest people...mostly local Mennonites. I would strongly recommend you purchase their dark brown sugar and unrefined sugar as well.

Could it be a simple mistake that he meant 50lbs, not 50 gallons? A 5lb pail like he linked to weighs around 50 lbs...

If not, i definitely need some details. I don't care if it takes me a year to go through it!
