Hi from southern England

Post by DriftLord »

Hi Everyone

Hello from England :D

Ive been running a reflux still for a few years making just neutral and flavouring, but my New Years resolution was to build a decent size pot still and become a proper Distiller( no offence to anyone using a reflux still). My still is a 40l keg. The still has already seen some action using Buccaneer Bobs rum recipe. Very pleased with the results so far.Great work Bob

I am doing a mashing course at my homebrew shop next month after which I wil attempting an AG bourbon.

Love the site. Soooo much information. Cheers all

Welcome! I love my pot still and love the term "proper distiller". I have a reflux column in the form of a boka, but to me it's just not as fun'

Welcome to the forum Drift
The old reflux still will come in handy for re-running the pot-still feints.

Hey Driftwood great decision to change to a pot still and naturally flavoured spirits. I recently swapped from years of reflux stills and am having so much more fun mucking around with recipes and ingredients and all the variables there are in finding that perfect rum! Such a fun hobby eh!
Cheers, fyfo.

Is he trying to lump us into 'The Proper Sort' when I've dedicated my life to 'Stepping To The Beat Of A Different Drummer' ? I QUIT RIGHT NOW !! I have no desire to be considered part of the 'proper sort' , such as are held up as examples to children . Children despise that in an adult and always seem to like my wayward ways and the non PC stories I have to tell . :moresarcasm:
If you ain't the lead dog in the team , the scenery never changes . Ga Flatwoods made my avatar and I want to thank him for that .
