Hi,
I'd like to char the inside of a mini barrel but I have no idea how to open them.
The barrels I have are similar as the one in the link.

Can you pull the bung out?
Char through the hole with a wand torch.

RandyMarshCT had an excellent post on recharring a barrel. I'm on my phone or I'd send a link, but you can google it.

I managed to char it a little bit through the holes but it quickly runs out of oxygen inside.
And I've seen Some videos where they take regular barrels apart but I'm afraid the hoops are more esthetics so that I won't be able to reassemble them.

Also, I see now the hoops are nailed into the barrel.

Take out the stopper on top, take out the takeoff.
Now you can char it without running out of oxygene inside the barrel.
Anyhow...i think it might be a bad idea...
If those rings are nailed into the wood as you describe, they may go all the way through the wood.
The nails are iron ..distillate would come into contact with them and cause them to rust.
The whole batch would be ruined.
I am affraid this one is only meant as decoration and not for aging spirits.

No it is meant for aging drinks. Preferably wine i think. And I did take of both but still it isn't enough.
