Some sites out there seem to think that single grain whisky, such as Haig Club, only use unmalted grain (be it barley, wheat, rye or corn) in their mash/wash.
Please correct me if im wrong, but surely it isnt possible to create sugar, and thus alcohol, if no malted grain is used. Perhaps amylase is used but im not sure if highstreet brands are allowed to use such products.
Thanks
Is it possible to create a 100% unmalted whisky???
