Very cool article! Nice to finally see one that doesn't mention the old urban myths.

Thanks for sharing. It was nice to read an article concerning our craft from someone who actually understand who, what, why, and how we do things. Once I read that he learned the craft from right here, home distillers forums, it really gave his article and narrative a lot of credibility. Just Saying.

Found this movie using the "Genesis" app in Kodi. See BearRiver's excellent post titled "Free Entertainment" for details.

I remember when the local Drive In theater showed Thunder Road one weekend every month. And it was a Full House every time.
The local police are interested in Meth Makers, they ain't worried about a JAR of Likker.

Thanks for posting the link to the article. I was searching the ole innerweb for something, can't remeber what, but I came accross a great story about Kings County Distillery. Ended up purchasing some of their bourbon and I liked it very much.

I think that's largely true everywhere. Real criminals are only interested in the money and growing a patch of weed or cooking meth is a helluva lot easier than making beverage grade alcohol.

I don't think most of us are aware of how much money the recreational pharmaceutical manufacturers make. There was a bust in the largest town around here and DEA revealed to the Local press, that a 14 year old look-out was being paid two Grand a week. This outfit was making millions.

Nice read and thanks for posting! I liked the old picture at the beginning of the article. But it shows me that I'm underdressed when I make runs (the picture is of a guy standing next to a still and he is wearing a tie!)

But no mention of the millions blinded by drinking bathtub gin? Irresponsible journalism, what with 83% of the populations of Kentucky and Alabama being blind and all...

Enjoyed that. Made me feel proud of my hobby. Most moonshine articles make me feel ... less so.

If we were making wine instead of 'shine we'd be automatically elevated to some level of artisan status.

Funny how perceptions are formed. Seems the more intellectual humans become, the more irrational their perceptions of themselves and each other become. I like to read books that I don't understand while I sip my wine. I like to grill some brats while I chug a beer. I like to dance the "wild willy jig" while I tug on a jug of likker. Maybe the article illustrates that some of those perceptions are fading. I think we'll reach a point were the law/government will have to yield to logic, but the government's threshold of stupidity is a high bar and it may take a while.
