Thought this was gonna be a moped. This is much better.

Mopeds are like a sexual encounter with an overweight person. They are lots of fun right up until your friends see you riding one.

The ones I ride most are a 96ci FXD, DR650SE and a 275 Massey Ferguson.
Yes I count the tractor as a scooter, since it's also used to boost my mental health
All jokes aside the dual sport motorcycle is my favorite, It will take me any were I want to go, I can ride it on the interstate, back roads, and gravel and I don't have to stop just because the road ends. Signs that say "dead end" are an invitation to find out why.....

I have to agree shady. Every time I ride my DRZ it puts a huge smile on my face. Huge fun factor an I get more waves from people in cars than I ever did riding strictly road bikes.

Hot rod Sporty. 164 honestest horsepower. Started out as a 2002 883 hugger but wound up 88 inches a lot of extensive mods lousy pic as we had the clutch as well as the cams out that day.

Ran 9.18 @ 143 mph 1/4 mile.

don't ride much anymore. I won a 1997 honda 1100v twin in a oker game. still have it in new condition after 10000 miles. i'd ost a ic, but why bother after that '67 fat low hog... it would just be embarrassing.

nice fucking ride FMH.

Who Rides a Scoot besides me

Post by raketemensch »

I have a 7 and an 8 year old, so I'm off bike for another 10-11 years or so, and it's killing me.

I started on a gl500 (the Silverwing), then switched to a klr650 dual-sport (still my favorite bike, it would go anywhere and I did a lot of 500+ mile days on it), then a Concours, and finally I picked up a 1991 bmw k1100rs with really low miles when it was 11 years old.

That thing was incredible, you felt like part of the bike, it was so tuned and ready and easy to just pick your line half a mile in advance and flow through it without even thinking. But still, the light weight of that big 650 thumper was the bomb.

I still read Cycle World every month, figuring out which bike I want, because by the time I can ride again they'll all be cheap 10 year old used bikes :]
