Converting to Electric

Post by panikry83 »

Ok, in anticipation of the coming winter months and not wanting to freeze my ass off sitting outside for hours at a time, I'm seriously considering converting to electric. However, I have no experience working with electric other than installing some lights for my wife (and TBH, I was stressed out about causing a fire for weeks afterwards). I've read Jimbo's topic over and over again along with a few others on these forums, read some topics over at the Electricbrewery.com, and various other forums/topics/websites etc. I've put together an Amazon wish list to keep what I think I need together: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishl ... av_lists_2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow. and I plan to consult my father-in-law (who does have experience working with electric) to check what my current panel can handle and if needed, add the proper connections. I THINK ( ) I have a decent handle on connecting everything together and I know I can do the mods to the keg. It's the breaker box connections that has me stuck. I have a gas dryer and gas water heater, energy efficient appliances that all appear to be 110v, and cannot find a single 240v outlet in my house. I'm trying to keep this on the cheaper end but I want to get everything correctly installed. Having better control of the still and doing it in the comfort of my home sound great - I just don't want to kill myself in the process. If you haven't got it form any of my other posts, I'm very cautious when it comes to anything I don't have a handle on already.
