Re: home distiller anonymous
Rager,
Scottish single malts are 100% peated barley. The differences between one and the next are in the barley variety and level of peat smoke, measured in phenols, which is a result of the process used (100% peat fuel or blended with coal etc). The island of Islay is known to have the smokiest of the Scotches commercially available. Here's an interesting writeup http://whiskyscience.blogspot.com/2011/02/peat.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

I got one of those "Because you bout ( insert thing here ) you might like" emails from amazon the other day. It had controller parts and try clamps and such but the last thing on the list was a one pound package of DADY. I think homeland security could benefit from amazons system.

Jimbo, just make sure you bring a few wood chips to drop into the IV feed.
Re: home distiller anonymous
The only problem is see is you have to figure what to use the liquor cabinet for. My solution would be to keep the cheap bonded likker in it for guests you don't care for.jb-texshine wrote:Came by because the problem has grown...i no longer have a liquor cabinet,I have a liquor closet! If ur using trash cans to ferment, put em up high before filling them if you plan to siphon when you rack.
Now you know why you stopped by here...we all been there. Good talk!

I have used co2 to help age and bottle! I have recently acquired a 6 tap with ice cooler ball lock coke dispenser. I plan to keep several on tap like brewskies. Is this wrong? Well, have you ever tried carbonated whiskey? It's different!Desvio wrote:I confess, I have considered making some distillate available ice cold, on tap.....

Haha, picked up on a freebie Sodastream a few days ago to mess with, it has me thinking a lot lately. And yeah I am looking for a new refrigerator to convert for kegging again, and one may be reserved for some special stuff. Hope all went well Jimbo. I guess you won't be climbing apple trees any time soon. Maybe you should avoid that activity in the future anyway.

Just to be clear, you don't have to even buy something. Just searching and looking at items influences your suggestions.cranky wrote: I've never even bought yeast on Amazon, just controller parts and tri-clampsThey put that together to come up with the DADY recomendation.
I haven't been able to tell if Amazon has trackers on other websites, yet.
