iStill 250/500 Pro Series

Post by Odin »

Over the last year, my team and I have been working on a new series of stills. The iStill 250/500 Pro Series. With beefed up design and performance. All automated and robotized REALM column management. Integrated cooling system, segmented column, integrated computer and robot section, automated cuts and automated collection of various factions. For whiskey, rum, brandy, gin and vodka. With even more performance than before due to a few more innovations.

Here are a few first pictures. I hope you guys like them!

Regards, Odin.

That is a pretty snazzy rig Odin. How much product could a microdistiller expect from one run of whiskey wash? Additionally it is a large heavy column so I would not expect it is anticipated to be taken down and reset very often. These rigs are definitely aimed at commercial applications to be ran daily then I guess as to not do so would tarnish the copper in the catylist. Is it anticipated that a pump will be used to drain the pot?

The hardest item to add to a bottle of shine is patience!
I am still kicking.

Hi GA, thanks!

Yeah, the column has segments. Each segment can be lifted like an inch with the easy lifting system. Disconnect two tri-clamps and you can take a segment out. But the only segment you will do that with in practice, will be the catalyst, so you can clean out the copper.

The rig contains up to 500 liters of wash. Say it is charged with 500 liter of 8% wash. That will give you around 67 liters of alcohol at 60%. Of which around 50 to 55 liters will be hearts at barrel aging strength. I personally like to do a 1.5 approach on my taste rich: one fast strip, then low wines go back into the boiler, I top up with fresh wash and do a finishing run in around 8 to 9 hours, yielding 100 to 110 liters of 60% hearts.

Regards, Odin.
