Need advice on using Oarnge juice

Will it hold up in alcohol for like 6 mo? Or will it go bad. I want to make a flavored drink and try oranges but do not want it to go bad. Recipe said 6 mo sitting in a jar with fine sugar, juice, and likker. Any ideas the recipe uses black berries but I want to use oarnges.
