Inconel

Post by squeezins »

I have several plates lying around and was thinking about making a small heat table out of one with a burner underneath . Would make heating and brazing 4"-6" deflag easier with plenty of heat on the bottom. Anyone see any issues?

Sounds good enough to me. I didn't think it would be a problem but you never know. There are some pretty high IQ's on this forum so I just thought I would ask.

Look at it this way...

Inconel is a high grade stainless steel used in internal nuclear reactor parts that are subject to high temps and pressures. I think it should work just fine. :lolno:

Expensive stuff.

Machining Inconel is about like titanium, climb mill and heavy feed. Good chip removal is key, let it start building up and you will have a mess fast.
