PNW Meet 2016
I would like to open my doors once again on July 10th, 2016 to the established membership. That is the following day after Proof, the Washington Distiller's Festival in Seattle. Figure 30-45 minutes South of Seattle depending on traffic.
I'll have food, drinks, and ice available. However, feel free to bring whatever you would like to share. Its a relaxed setting and I really enjoyed our gathering last year.
PM me for the address. If you already got it for one reason or another then I will see you there around 1pm.

I really enjoyed your company last year. If you do make it, then you will be pleased to know that I will replace that horrid gas grill with a charcoal one.Bigbob wrote:Still early bear, but I hope to make it again!

OK, I will put it on the calendar and see what happens.
Re: PNW Meet 2016
I will try make it to your gathering this year. "Proof" was fun, and I did get to meet some of the members from this board while the wife and I were there, but I missed out on your "house party" last year due to prior commitments for my time.

Re: PNW Meet 2016
This years Proof is July 9th and it looks like more than 40 distilleries will be there so I am guessing the BBQ if Bearriver is hosting again this year will be on the 10th. Might have to get my wife to be a designated driver

Here is the link to Proof 2016:

They sell so many drink tickets but my experience in the past is they never ask for them so you can really drink as much as you want as people are promoting their micro distilleries.

Re: PNW Meet 2016
To those who didn't go to Proof last year.
One thing I learned last year is Proof is very overwhelming. You need to do a lot of research before going. Look up the distilleries that are going to be there, figure out which ones you want to try and which of their products you want to try. Make a list and if you can, I recommend getting the VIP tickets. Last year the VIP tickets came with a bag of stuff, in the bag was a map of everything that you can use to find the ones you want to try before they open the doors to general admission . Once they open the doors to general admission it becomes very crowded and people are either running from booth to booth drinking all they can or they are camped out BSing and it becomes quite difficult to get a drink. I enjoyed Proof last year but think it can be a much better experience with good research and planning.

Re: PNW Meet 2016
Also last year we had a meet up at Odin's booth and recognized each other as we were wearing either an S3 or iStill t-shirt. Some of us will recognize one another from last year but is there some suggestions on a meet & greet at the event?
Re: PNW Meet 2016
well that would be nice. i am really excited since i realized the universe may line up for me to meet some of you folks...
i may only have time for one event... unless they are accepting Job applications at the distilleries. haha some budgetary worries in my local economy leave me worrying about midlife retooling for economically sustaining my life, and family.
I am thinking the get together at bears would be more meaningful, and will be nice to spend time in a manner where the defenses are left at the end of the driveway...

Re: PNW Meet 2016
I have invited established members from other distilling forums. There will be at least 4 PNW members from other forums in attendance.
These folks were at Proof last year and we did not know it due to the lack of communication. I have made an effort to close that gap this year.
