The feds can't leave notin alone!

Post by pythonshine »

Not sure about you guys in the United States, but here in Canada or at least ontario. they just passed a new law. You can't sell flavored tiped smokes! As a person that enjoys colts that is a load of shit to me. They say that it is encouraging kids to smoke..... I don't care if it tastes like shit and looks like it to, if a kid has it in his mind to try it, flavored or not the are going to try it....live it alone!.....I feel better now. Your turn. Oh and please pardon my language. Im just a little heated at the moment.

Here in the states the anti smokers are eating away at smokers rights little by little. Wont be long till having a cig is a bigger crime than having drugs. I'm going to be learning to grow my own tobacco this summer. its gonna be a necessity pretty soon.

When we digress from personal responsibility and blame the liberty enjoyers (for lack of a better term) for those that have broken the law (underage, bootleg etc....)We have totally lost our freedom... I have no frickin clue what a flavored tiped smokes is but we should NOT remove the enjoyment of that from law abiding folk.... just because someone who is not entitled to that right usurps the right of passage!!!

Ranger ric if you look up colt cigars you will find multipul flavored tipped cigars. My staple is the rum and wine. They have a plastic tip where a filter would be on a cigarette, and that tip has a flavor impregnated in it. I still enjoy them without the flavored tip but it was a nice enjoyable blend of flavors between the tip and tobacco. Nice to have and not truly appreciated untillvits now gone i find...

I feel your pain Python. We had flavored cigarettes about 10 years ago here in the States. They outlawed them for the same reason. Its funny to me because where I'm from most men don't start out Smoking they start out with dip.Now you can still buy any flavor Under the Sun of dip that you would like, and any cigar flavor also. But God forbid they make a cigarette Tastes like an orange.
But what the heck do I know.....I am still learning.

Out of curiosity, do you guys still have "light" or "full flavored" cigs? Our government decided that that was too misleading for our feeble public minds. So now everything is simply color coded.I used to walk to the counter and say Marlboro Special Blend, now I have to say Marlboro black with the red stripe shorts. It's ridiculous.
But what the heck do I know.....I am still learning.

I think those are Marlboro "brown" now. Lol. But there a brown with black background and brown with white so I'm not sure witch one is witch. See what I mean about the color system being so simple?

in scotland cig packets now need to be out of public eye. you go up to the counter and they are all coverd by a stupid door. make it hard to pick out untried brands or what ever have good deals. then the sin tax is massive about £10($14) a 20 deck. makes me sad :esad: .

Get ready...this same approach can and I predict will come to alcohol. Coconut Flavored Rum, Orange Vodka and the such will be the first to go.

Remember, in the U.S. NY outlawed large sodas.

Outlaw large sodas? Holy Bloomberg, Batman!
Ya gotta love all that wonderful government intrusion in your personal life. They obviously know what you need, 'cause you sure don't. Hell, ask any politician. They'll tell you that they know best how to save you from yourself. It's like my signature line says...

lol Ah Canada. We have a long list of inane laws banning everything from switchblades to throwing stars and nunchucks. That's right nunchucks are illegal in Canada! I can own a 1911 pistol in .45 ACP and shoot it within the laws/regulations of our country but I can not/will not be trusted by my government to own two sticks attached at the ends with some cord.
Ontario is one of the worst as well. The Liberals ban everything from cigarettes to dog breeds. And the Nanny State marches on sadly :(

40 years ago there were strange laws. My dad owned several Taverns one in Washington and one in Oregon. In Washington in the early 70's women could not sit at the bar and if a man was sitting at the bar and wanted to move to a table he could not pick up his beer and move, the bartender had to carry his glass from the bar to the table. Bars were closed on Sunday. In Oregon you could not have more than 2 pitchers of beer at your table at a time, if you finished a pitcher you could order a second.
