Nixon Stone traits
I have recently built a Nixon Stone offset head. Is it common for the distillate to come out hot? Thinking about the design the distillage travels quickly back down through the vapor path. I have only run pots in the past and typically everything runs out nice and cool. I remember reading posts about the boka being hot and thought the same might be true for the Nixon.

On a Bokakob (an inline LM reflux head), the liquid will be hot because the collection cup (the lower angle plate) sets in the vapor path.
On the Nixon-Stone, the liquid collection is below the reflux condenser, although offset from the column, it is still in direct contact with hot rising vapor. So it too is expected that the distillate will be warm/hot (but condensed to liquid).
One solution would be to put a small Liebig condenser (heat exchanger) in the liquid discharge line to further cool it on take off. It wouldn't have to be big or with a high cooling water requirement. It would just drop the distillate temperature.

Thanks! I thinking about the small condenser as I have seen several builds with them.

An easy way to see it done is to lengthen the out put tube and then cut a couple of holes in a bit of hose and ram it through then tape it up
Getting back into stilling after a few years off.

Yes absolutely, the cooling water does not touch the vapour path so there should be no problem.
