With my link OG 1.090 and FG 1.040 measured with a refractometer result in a "real" FG of 1.012 and 11.04%abv.
With your link this calculation is a bit more complicated, but at the end I get similar results.

I have to add, my FGs with bw 0.985-0.990 are bw with added nutrients. Without added nutes even after almost a month it didn't get under 1.000.

So my advice for your next time birdwatchers: Search about fertilizers, B-vitamins and calcium carbonate (sea shells) before.

Thanks for that Derwoo, I thought about added nutrients and will try that next time. This last run of 25g jusy kept going and going, shut it down when it dropped below 50 proof. seems like I still had a lot of volume in the boiler still...

Fermax is pretty cheap, and has all the nutes you could need. I still have some 20-20-20 urea-free fertilizer that I use when I run out, it gets the job done as well.

I recently have been having good luck with Fermax. Those washes go from 1.077 to 0.990 in a week or so and ferment cleanly. I told the story and gave the exact recipe I used in the failed Fermax wash topic here: http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 6#p7414902

It is just a 6 gallon wash with 10 lbs. of sugar and 2 tablespoons of Fermax pitched with 1/4 cup distiller's yeast (DADY).
