I have been given a gift of a Hard Cider Kit By Brewersbestkits called "Cider House Select" Cranberry Apple Hard Cider Kit.
I plan to make a brandy from this. There is not much in these forums about doing it this way with a kit.
Does anyone have any experience with these "Kits"?
The guy at the HB shop said to add some sugar to the must to bring up ABV%, but I read that it makes it harsher.
He also said Brown Sugar would add to flavor, but if its harsh, I don't want to do it.
The kit I have says FG: 1.004 ABV: 5.2%, and I would like to get it between 8-12% ABV for brandy, but not if its going to be undrinkable.
Only tried (failed) one fruit wash before and was hoping for some sugestions.
