Very small scale very high purity?

Post by aamcle »

I'm new a home brewer looking to recover alcohol from poor/bad batches I don't plan to drink it I want to use it as a spray sanitiser and to fuel a spirit burner. Quantity 5 litres a YEAR would do!! the mash/beer would be say 5% ABV at high purity.

I like making stuff so what should I consider making?

Thanks. aamcle

I would stick to making beer, Sounds like to me you have a long road of learning to do in just the beer making alone. You just need to use a sanitizer such as starsan for what your wanting to do.

Another issue is trying to distill a beer is it will foam up on you and puke. Personally I think what you are trying to get isn't worth the effort.

Another point would be you wouldn't want to run a mash that has hops in it.
I have made beer for years and my suggestion is to use proven recipes and sanitize everything. I have had a few dumpers in my day and it happens.
Just start over with clean and sanitized equipment and all new ingredients. Good luck!
