I have no idea what US name is but in Europe we use 5 gallon or larger fermentation vessels that can be either a bucket with lid or a similar plastic vessel to your carboys but with a much wider neck.

just made one up its hdpe and I added heat tape for use outside
I strip my low wines into glass carboys . My fermentors are 44 gallon Brute trash cans on wheeled platforms for mobility . I've had issues with aquarium heaters . Either going to move to heat tape or water jackets for aquarium heaters . Reflectix is also a great benefit .
