Experience with solder paste?

I've never worked with it before, so I thought I might seek opinions. I'm looking to possibly use this paste

To 'laminate' several layers of copper rings to make an ez flange. If I understand it right, I prepare and sand the surfaces like regular, but instead of Flux, I apply this paste... then I clamp my pieces and heat until the paste fluxes and self-solders?

Is there a lot I am missing here?
