Dunder Question

So I have some Dunder that's about a year old now. It has been sitting in my temperature controlled basement since my last rum batch back in January/February. It has grown all sorts of stuff on the cap, but smells sweet and delicious! It does however have a bunch of fruit flys on the inside rim, above the cap. My concern is with the dead bugs, am I OK to add the dunder to my wash anyway? I've heard stories of the Jamaican pits that have dead bats and all, but those are just stories. What do you all think??
