Hello from Texas/Arkansas

Post by lowpull »

Ive been interested in all types of DIY stuff since I was little. Usually it takes more money than just buying it, but I like to have done it myself. My grandfather was a moonshiner in the 50's and my Uncles helped run the still when they were still in Highschool. So I got to hear all the stories. Ive got a full shop with lathe , milling machine , welders benders CNCplasma table etc etc. Here to learn from others mistakes and successes before I get to learn from mine (for once). I spend most of my time in the Panhandle of Texas but Im in SW Arkansas a lot also. Im just as interested in the builds as I am the craft.

Welcome in. It seems your pretty close to me...in Texas distances anyway! I'm bout an hour from texarkana, dead west. If you do what we consider mandatory reading you'll be makin good drink in no time. Start out by reading a post called "crankys spoonfeeding for new distillers(follow all the links!), the HD glossary, and " kiwis guide to cuts. For searching the site use the HD Google function. Reflux stills make vodka and neutral. Potstills make whiskey, rum, and brandy. Still choice is determined by what you like to drink. Have fun ,its a deep rabbit hole!
