Where can I buy SIDE AIRLOCK - Angular Airlock
Where can I buy SIDE AIRLOCK - Angular Airlock. I would like to assembly airlock on side of my fermentator, this will allow me to stock one fermentator onto another - my kitchen is not big enough to keep 6 fermentation buckets on floor )))))))
Re: Where can I buy SIDE AIRLOCK - Angular Airlock
Blow one out of glass.
or
Get a six times larger fermenter. The footprint wouldn't be much bigger than a couple of your buckets.

Re: Where can I buy SIDE AIRLOCK - Angular Airlock
I done told you already. Get some glass tube and blow one. What you are wanting is easy.Radek wrote:shell I mix them ? any idea where I can get that kind of airlocks ?
If you really cant do it, look for a local laboratory glass blower in your area.
Distilling doesn't need airlocks anyway. My current ferment has a towel over it.

as stated, an airlock is not needed. But if you can't do without it, just get a food safe tube, stick one end in the hole of your fermenter and sink the other end into a bucket of water with some starsan or chlorine.
keep a safe distance between the surface of your wash and the hole you make in the side of the fermentor, or you'll have to mop wash from all over your floor.

Re: Where can I buy SIDE AIRLOCK - Angular Airlock
buy normal airlocks and get some small od copper tube that fits the bottom of the airlock, bend the tube and stick in to the side of the fermenter and stick the airlock in the copper tube, should get a fair few done for the price of one side airlock
Don't be a dick
Re: Where can I buy SIDE AIRLOCK - Angular Airlock
I've got some airlocks somewhere
My current ferment is going on in 25 Litre fermenter, with the cap tightened down and then just baccked off a quarter of and inch or so - so you can just feel a little up and down movement in the cap if you pull it. Often I use a bit of plastic bag, with an elastic band (not too tight ) - so the CO2 can push it's way out fairly easily.
My big fermenter (200 Litre) would need some airlock when it's on song !
Not that there's anything wrong with airlocks at all - they're there to keep the vinegar bug etc out of your wort and in winemaking they can be very useful in the last days of fermentation and clearing - until the water in them dries out of course

Been making shine for over 25 years and never used an airlock. There are other ways.

My thoughts exactlyNZChris wrote:Blow one out of glass.
Building a Glass Angular Airlock is bigger bragging rights, than speeding money
Re: Where can I buy SIDE AIRLOCK - Angular Airlock
When I made wine, I made my own airlocks out of two small medicinejars, two pieces of small plastic tube and some glue.
Costs almost no money and can be used anywhere.
Glue the lid of the first one airtight and put enough water in the second one. When there is pressure from fermenting, the water will be in the second jarlet, when the fermentation stops and starts to suck, the water will go in the first jarlet but will not get into the mash.Costs almost no money and can be used anywhere.

A glass airlock ?!? I give that worse odds at survival than your average HBS hydrometer test jar.
