New to the forums

Post by D-Weasel »

Hey everybody, I just learned about all this fun going on here from a co-worker and got really interested about expanding my knowledge. I don't have a still and I'm not sure if I'll be buying/ building one anytime soon, but figured I better understand all the science and safety before I make that decision. Anyway, I'm from the U.S. on the left coast.

Welcome to HD, lots of us from the west coast. I am from the Evergreen State. Sounds like you are approaching the hobby the right way :D . If your co-worker is experienced he can be a great resource for you as well. It's not easy to meet up with Hobby Distiller's as it is still illegal here untie US.

Hi from UK. It's not the easiest forum to mingy into. I am also new and recommend you read more than you write or get your fingers burnt. There is more "straight" info here than anywhere. I was half way through building something that wasn't going to work as I thought. I now have a still worth building thanks to this forum.

Build it yourself. It's stupid easy.

My co-worker doesn't distill anything yet, but he's been brewing beer for a few years and, like me, is interested in learning this hobby too. We ended up buying one of those really cheap Chinese stills before learning about this forum. Lesson learned I guess.
