Still function question

I had a chance to get this Russian made still cheap and jumped on it. I incorrectly assumed there would some English instructions tossed in. No such luck. I can't quite reconcile the design with anything Ive read to know exactly how to run it. It has a small chamber that looks like a thumper, but it seems too small and it has no way to fill it, only drain it. The last part is pretty obvious, but Im not entirely sure what to make of the intermediate chamber. I found one site that said something similar to this would collect the heads early and keep them from the main cuts, but it didnt describe exactly how that would work or what the process would be. Any suggestions? Its a 20L pot if that helps.

Hard to say what the center section is but it might be a small slobber box... What does that unit use for seals...??? Just my opinion but I think you may have "jumped on it" too quick...

Seals are silicone gaskets. Its made very well and is a pretty good selling unit in Russia. I just don't feel like trying to get the manual translated. The person I could find who uses this one had pretty broken English but he seems to be saying that you run it for a certain time then empty the middle chamber. but he couldnt tell me how long.

Couldn't it be a gin basket? Can you tell where does the input pipe end?

No I cant. It has no way to fill it or put anything in. The drain at the bottom is just a simple brass cap with a silicone seal. I guess I can borrow an endoscope and try to look inside. So far slobber box is the best guess Ive seen.

Silicone gaskets are frowned upon here... If you have the still in hand you should see about swapping them out for PTFE...

It's a pot still with a little slobber box.
So run it like a pot still. I am sure you can find how to do that around here somewhere.

I see a lot of salvageable parts for reconstruction but no working still as is .

THANKS! I borrowed an endoscope and looked inside and its certainly a slobber. The input and output are welded flush where they appear so it cant be a thumper, even a bad one.
