Brandy vs Infusion

I've got 7 gallons of a corn/barley mash ready to distill. I use a pot still w/ thumper, so, if I put the fruit I intend to use for flavoring in the thumper, am I merely infusing or making a brandy? Me-thinks infusing, but I'm not sure. Thanx
