Ideas for a still vessel

Post by UselessPete »

I can sort out fine the tubing out of the still, but Im stuck on what to use for the actual still boiling pot

Pressure cooker - Dont have a large one, large ones new are expensive
Glass beaker - from chemical suppliers, fragile and expensive, max ive seen is 3 litre
Beer Keg - where from?? I dont have any friendly barmen
Plastic bucket - No.
Milk container - I dont live in the netherlands.
Paint tin - Again, where?

I have a chip pan, thats big but aluminium... i COULD get a boiler from my rents, but they wont get it back.

Anyone got any more feasible ideas? My last still was a plastic one, which was fine untilt he heating eliment died, and it was a lengthy process, plus the product was weak+tasted bad.

Need a nice big metal container for a hob or electric element, thats easy to purchase/get hold of, and will easily take my copper tubing...,

ta!
