Hi all
I have a cheap Chinese pot still which I am starting to learn with.
I am intending to make a CCVM still.
The problem I have is that if I use the mains gas I only have 70cm from the top of the pan to the ceiling.
I was advised to by a hotplate.
On an auction site I follow I have seen a preserving (jam) boiler.
https://www.amazon.de/Silva-Homeline-HG ... A+HOMELINE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
Basically its a 30l pot with a 2500w heater.
I understand that these do not provide a constant heat (cycle on and off according to temp) but that the cut off can be bypassed)
What do you think? worth a punt for a few pounds?

The plastic is on the tap which would be removed- should have said that in the beginningBushman wrote:I wouldn't along with cycling it looks like you have plastic to deal with.
