I'm having a hard time locating granulated coconut activated carbon in canada. I've been on the usa sites of distilling equipment but for 5 bucks they want 40 bucks shipping,
I need to find a source that's not crazy shipping price. any ideas?
Thanks

Hi huxley.
I don't mean to be obtuse (honest)... but do you really need to carbon filter whatever it is?

Does it have to be coconut?
I found this at Brewhaus Canada: https://secure.brewhaus.ca/index.aspx?p ... egoryID=28
Have you considered weaning off the filtering? There are better ways to make a good drink that require no activated filters at all.
It'll save you money all around. Just a suggestion.

+1 Mikey

What kind of still do you use for that Vodka..?
You don't...you just make a good ferment, learn to distil and do proper cuts..huxley wrote:so how do you polish vodka without carbon? Maybe I haven't fallen onto that writing yet.

Listen to Danespirit!
I assumed you were using Turbo yeast and making foul stuff that needed cleaning.
Nothing beats a good recipe and proper cuts. You'll never use activated carbon again and keep that cash in your wallet.

I am not sure you will find many that carbon filter on this site. Mash Rookie in all his experimenting made a long glass tube (he was a professional glass blower) and experimented with carbon filters so you might research his posts. Not sure if he came to any conclusions.

I've always ordered mine from Brewhaus, pretty good deal. Yes, carbon DOES make a good neutral even better.
