Looking for 53KW electric still control

Post by FractionalDisMan »

I need a 53kw electric still control. The spec below. Something like http://distillerycontrols.com/integrate ... ol-center/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow. I tried to get http://distillerycontrols.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow to quote but I think they are out of business. I emailed 3 times and got no reply. Any one have another company that does this sort of thing?

Power in:
2 each
70A 3 phase Y (208v)
(140A total. Must be wired split into two 70A)

Heaters:
12 each
4400w, 240v
I will hard wire, no plugs
Pot Control:
Timmed/delayed start (for preheating mash)
PID temp control, RTD input
Manual power control
High alarm

Mixer Motor:
1 each
5 HP, 3 phase
Speed control (simple VFD)
Will hard wire to motor, no plugs
On/Off

Wash Pump:
1 each
3 HP, 3 phase
Will hard wire, no plugs
On/Of Control

Dephlegmator Control
1 each 24vdc solenoid valve, NO
1 each 24vdc solenoid valve, NC
Control:
Both solenoids are on for cooling
PID temp control, RTD input

Other:
2 each temperature readouts, no control, high alarm, RTD input
1 programmable timer with alarm
GFI protection on heaters
Circuit overload protection on heaters
Circuit overload protection on motors
Electrical cabinets (gray, steel)

OK. I have just one question. Why are you using electric power with this scale project. Why not steam jackets on the boiler? and a separate steam boiler. Much easier to clean industrial stainless tank with steam jacket than it is elements directly immersed in your wash. Think blown element in you wash....How many elements? Harsh cleaners on the elements? Scorched wash.... Just to many things could go bad in that scenario. Keeping product away from process contamination on a failure will lead to less losses. If your in the planning stages of your project you might think of indirect heating......steam jackets or fuel burner on your wash boiler

Seems like this is more of an adi post than home distiller. That is a lot of power, probably more than most houses.

Certainly way more than my whole house could provide !

That would evaporate my entire boiler full (25 litres) in around 5 minutes !

Wtf size boiler you cookin ?

Swede is active on AD. He logged in 3 days ago.

When I see your specs, I must ask why work in 3 phases but use monophased 240V heaters that you will derate by 25%, 39.6KW?
You say 53KW but you will have 140A that is more 50Kw if I'm right, but if it's your breakers rating, you must derate this to 80% of the breakers for continuous use, this is our 40Kw.
Motors are roughly 6KW and the rest is quite nothing as load :)

I'm sure there are many people in automation who can build something for you.

a bit big for hobby. we'll consider this asked and answered with a lock instead of delete.

Post your credentials in sig line with link to your distillery and i'll open it again in craft distillers topic.
I finally quit drinking for good.
