Distiller Coil

What is this Black stuff coming out of coil? Its like a black oily feel?how do i get this out of my coil? And is it still safe to drink? I notice it comes when its getting in the tails!

Hiya!

We'll need a bit more info about your rig to really tell what's going on. Sounds like you may be deep into the tails - that's when things get oily. However, I've never gone far enough to see anything black. Might you have burned something in your boiler?

Hey Duckhunter~
That sounds like construction residue like solder flux and carbon.
Is this a new still that you may have not cleaned properly? (Cleaning a new still)

And some rye recipes can have oily dark tails.

Was there a scorch?

Little more info, please.

What mash are you running?
I've not had it myself, but have read about folk getting dark stuff coming over late when running some AG, somethign about protein in the grains?

Sorry can't remember enough of the key details to even hd google the answer

Im running Malt corn, i have a 15.5 gallon keg... its like a black residue?? It dont come to later in runs
