So I’m currently doing my first spirit run on my home built boka, everything seems to be going well and I think I’ve detected where the heads have finished. Temperature at the plates is a steady 78.1c and I’m getting a shade under 95% abv so I’m happy with that.
Currently my take off rate is about 2 drops a second, as long as my temperature stays consistent could I increase my take off rate?

A bokakob is a liquid managed (LM) reflux still head. Adjusting the liquid take off rate will adjust the reflux ratio given you have a constant heat input. So, of course you can adjust the take off rate...just know that it may affect the purity of the product because you’ll be reducing the amount of reflux.

What I’m getting at though is can I increase my take off rate providing my vapour temperature stays stable?

Sure....up to the point it isn't stable. It's like sitting on a fence...you won't fall as long as you don't lean to one side or the other.StarkBlood1980 wrote:...What I’m getting at though is can I increase my take off rate providing my vapour temperature stays stable?
What'll happen is the reflux ratio will fall as you increase take off until the point where your purity will fall and the temperature will rise as you push more water through the output.

Short answer is yes......keep an eye on abv and temp.
