Rum fail plated column

Post by Big Stogie »

I made a rum run as my 4 th run with my flute 4 plates as was recommended, I felt like it ran great I was able to control it very well, it came off at about 180 and smelled good at the time but after a few days it’s clear that I dragged tails of something through it, it has very little smell in the jars but there is a very in pleasant aftertaste when watered down to taste. I ran it a bit faster than before but not sure what I did wrong? Too much reflux maybe ? Any thoughts ? I have another batch done fermenting I was thinking maybe just dumping this back in with it and doing a 1.5 run
Thanks for the help
