strong smoked flavour
I have a batch of apple brandy which I oaked with a heavy char, for 12 months . I now find that it is too smokey for my taste, could I mix it with something to dampen down the taste

Re: strong smoked flavour
How about blending it with another jar of apple brandy that has not been aged in a heavily charred barrel? (make more?)
In fact, a young un-aged apple brandy would be excellent to reduce the charcoal quality in the over-oaked batch, yet retain the “brandy goodness” of flavors. Diluting with anything else will reduce the brandy flavors proportionally.

Thanks for your suggestion, I have done this and it solved the problem. I should have thought of it, thanks again
