I have a Brewhaus still and Brewhaus diffuser plate.
The plate is $20 from what I recall, and 3/16" thick.
Last time I looked it's not featured on their product web page, but they do sell them singly.
I've never NOT used it, but judging from it's scorch marks I'd rather that happening
on the diffuser plate than the bottom of my still. I run a 1500W modified (non-cycling) hotplate.
Recommended? Yes. Probably more so with open flame & pretty copper.

Bit like that fancy new fishing lure , it'll catch more buyers than fish.....been stillin this long without one, reckon I can manage to keep going that way.

Like fizzix (+1) I have a BH still, and I found that my diffuser plate helps a lot. It more stable while on my hot plate. I feel that it reduces any hot spots that may come from the hot plate. I also feel it help regulate temperature more effectively.
