New member here from Australia

Post by Brewbuddy1999 »

Hi all Kye here from Australia thank you for accepting me into this amazing wealth of knowledge I have been reading here for years and years and have finally decided to join and start some projects I’m very happy to try new things knowing there’s help there if I find myself in need

I have been brewing and distilling for around 6 years now but I’m only 19 so still very new to it all.
My current setup is a 25 litre still spirits super reflux that’s driving me bonkers with the fiddly water control cm stills really arnt my style so I’m here to hopefully learn and grow as a distiller to try new recipes, build many different projects one including my 50 litre keg still and to make the best product I can.

Welcome Brewbuddy1999.
To start brewing and distilling at 13 is quite a feat.. and your parents must be quite tolerant.

Not everyone likes CM stills for their temperamental nature. I'm not familiar with yours,
but maybe a finer needle valve can tame that thing. I must be lucky with my CM as it is trouble-free,
but apparently I'm in the minority.

Have a fine time here. It's a great place to learn, with lots of helpful folks.

gday Kye

Get yourself a power controller kit, it will make a world of difference in operating your T500.

Drop a hint to “Santa” for a pot still head to fit your T500, one with a larger condenser. You can replumb your reflux column head to run it as a pot still but the top part of the column is not designed for high temps.

cheers .., kimbo
