My stuff is almost all here

Post by Dedant »

Nearly everything needed to put it all together and get down to it. Seals supplied are “alcohol safe” but are black. Others I have seen are white, not sure .

Ant Your going to want to get or make some Teflon seals, just because it says alcohol safe doesn't inherently mean they are alcohol safe.
There are many threads a quick search will bring up on making your own PTFE seals.

PS.
I like the detailing on the drawers.. Makes them go faster

Thanks. My 28 yr old son and I did them when he was about 12. Had a matching desk too with chev hub caps ( 1/24 scale? ) inset in the drawer pull knobs . I dabble in a bit of pinstriping for fun .

sounds like you don't like your gaskets, I'd give em three laps of ptfe tape and call it good.
saves you waiting for a delivery for em and is cost effective, it's just plain old plumbers tape.
You may have your own booze on the xmas table yet

Thanks, I have a decent quantity of oak aged corn/rye spirit. Using an old original still spirits super reflux . Tiny 1" column, runs at max 70% abv , I run cold and slow down around 60% , seems to carry flavour over. Moved into a new house 6 weeks ago and run through a TFFV, some of that is soaking strawberrys right now for New Year celebrations . I was thinking I could run off the first sacrifical product using the HPDE gaskets, in the new one as I'm not drinking the stuff anyway. I am missing a 25mm to 15mm reducer I need to finish the connection between the output and the condensor and as the plumbing supply companies have all closed down for the holidays I can't run it even if I get time to do the final ferrule to copper joins. So all I can do is wait. I have no packing as yet for the column except for some ceramic noodles intended for an aquarium filter, so pot still mode only will be the way foward for me. At least now I will have to learn cuts.

Cleaning run underway, not using the reflux configuration yet, still have no packing organised. The big blue bucket is not part of it, just me not putting things away.
