Hello all,
Long time lurker here.
I started by brewing beer with a small scale system (extract only) and quickly got frustrated with how slow things were (bottling is annoying!)
I decided to put my Mechanical Engineering degree, 5 years of industrial process experience, and the low cost of stainless steel in China to work. I built a 55 gallon electric brewery system.
I hate liquor. I really enjoy beer. I made a lot of beer, but quickly found that a lot of my friends / my girlfriend / my dad prefer liquor.
I realized it was easy to convert my boiler to a still, and went from there.
Now I am on a journey to try and make liquor that I can enjoy drinking, because I (honestly) have never enjoyed liquor.
This forum is a great wealth of information, but I believe should be read with some healthy skepticism as there appears to be a LOT of misinformation here -- but to truly understand something, you must study, study, study, and do, do, do.
Thanks for having me!
