I am building myself 2" ccvm stil. My currant configuration for pot still mode is 1m (3,5') copper riser, ss tee, ss 90°elbow and 45cm ss condenser, all 2".
First warm up question: Is 1m riser too much for pot still? (I know about passive reflux problem). I could shorten pipe, but considering that this is my only copper in vapor path, I would like to keep this long if it doesn't significant disturb too much
And now into main question: How to configure my still for maximum results considering sulfur compounds and flavor?
Option 1: Leave like this, there is enough copper in vapor path and passive reflux will not effect final product so much (taking in consideration, that I will always making first striping and then spirit run, so 2x will be vapors in contact with 1m copper riser)
Option 2: Assumption that there is not enough copper, during striping run, put extra copper mesh into riser (or maybe also above condenser?) and spirit run without mesh, and how much mesh?
Option 3: Cut riser in half and like option 2, during striping run pack with mesh
Option 4: Your suggestions
I am currently lining to option 2, but I don't know how much will extra mesh effect flavor. Will this mesh "pull out" too much flavor? Will favor left behind in backset of striping run?
