Trying to understand this still
I picked up a bunch of scrap stainless steel stuff and there was what appears to be a still in the pile. But I don't understand why and if it will even work. Appears that there is no packing, but a cooling line is wrapped around the entire tower... almost

It’s a VM. But I don’t know why there is a Tee at the base of the column. Is this “boiler” actually a heated thumper? Does the keg have a tube that runs to the bottom inside?
Obviously, the column needs packing when configured as a VM, but if you remove the column and attach the product condenser at the bottom Tee, it could be used in potstill mode. But be extremely careful with the valve in the line...it MUST always be fully opened when running in potstill mode.

It does have a port on the bottom of the keg. Two actually, one the wave heating coil is attached into and one directly across from it. also a 90* fill port(?)
Re: Trying to understand this still
On the product side, there are two ports before the condenser. one 1.5" and one 2". another part i don't understand is a street tee just before the parrot.
Re: Trying to understand this still
OK as I look more into heated thumpers probably not what i'm looking at... though its possible(probable) i'm missing parts.
Re: Trying to understand this still
Tee before the parrot is just a vent.
Its a patch work of some cobbled together bits and bobs attached to some good stuff.
