Minimum Charge 3" Plates

Hi All

Does anyone have experience running a 3" - 4 plate flute on a 13 gallon boiler. I'm wondering what the minimum amount of alcohol is needed in the boiler to do a run and done keeping the column in a nice equilibrium. From reading it's my understanding this is less of a concern with a pot still and more so with a tall reflux column but am not clear with plates.
