Cleaning by boiling vinegar

Post by Yttrium »

I was wondering if anyone has tried boiling a small amount of vinegar in their still as a way of cleaning it? I checked and acetic acid has a boiling point of ~118C so the difference in boiling temperature between acetic acid and water is about the same of water and ethanol. Vinegar is only about 3% acetic acid, so it would take a little while for most of the water to boil off. I am curious to see if anyone has tried this.
