Built this still about 3 years ago and we really have no complaints it runs like a champ and makes some really good booze. My brother and I share it but I bought a new house and have a great spot in my basement to put another set up. Before I make an exact clone of what we have I'd like to entertain some ideas on how it can be better. Link below has all the details on what we did, I'd probably change it from a 6"x3" stainless reducer to a 6" x 4" or 6" x 2". 3" just gives me little options if I ever want to add a pre-built column or anything like that.
Our current process is make a 7-9% distillers beer, charge the keg with around 12 gallons at a time run hot and fast, strip and collect until we get enough low wines to do a spirit run. I have a fill port on top so I can charge the still without breaking down the head and I have a drain on the bottom.
