I've been searching and not finding anything definitive on shotgun dephleg sizing for a 2in column. It will be a simple CM configuration, so about 4ft of packing with a shotgun on top and a U spool above that leading to a 20in shotgun condenser. The PC is on the long side for stripping.
Is 6in enough with 5x 1/2in tubes and 3 baffles? I'm not sure how much power I can push through a 2in packed column, but I'm guessing the diameter and packing will limit it to around 2k watts. The boiler has 5500w.
Normally I would go a little bigger just to be on the safe side, but I only have 5ft of space between the top of the keg and the ceiling. My thinking is that it would be more beneficial to have a few inches more packing if the 6in dephleg will be sufficient.
Any experience with this setup? It seems that most information I'm finding is for 3-4in columns. If I guess based on those recommendations, I'd guess 6-8in shotgun dephleg for a 2in column.
