This is a pot stirrer I built. Did my first all grain a few weeks back and that was a pain. This setup made things easy and I got a much better cook of the corn.
It’s just a 2x4 bolted to a ceiling joist with one bolt. It has a fixture to hold a 1/2” drill. It can be stored out of the way when not in use.

Re: Pot stirrer
I like it, simple elegant solution. How do you control the speed of your drill?
Don't let your meat loaf.

Re: Pot stirrer
How much hot steam is the drill subjected to? Would a greater distance and some better shielding be better in the long term?
I've got plans to do something similar.

Re: Pot stirrer
I’m controlling the speed with a zip tie right now. It works, maybe upgrade in the future.
There was some steam making it to the drill, but I don’t think enough to be a problem. Could easily install a shield to direct the steam away.

I use a drywall paddle mixer chucked in a 3/4" drill mounted in a straddle frame on a 30 gallon ss pot heated with a propane burner .
Drill has to have brushes and I control the speed with a router speed control .
With liquid enzymes I mash in ag at 3# to the gallon and then dilute in the mash barrel to a little less than 2# to the gallon .
I don't think I would try such a high grain to water ratio if I was using malt for conversion .
I took my model from Pintoshine and use his enzymes .
