Hello all you wonderful people!

Post by JackHacket69 »

Finally got round to signing up to the forum, think I was feeling a bit guilty for just 'leeching' the info from this great site for the last 2 years! I started this 'hobby ' just over 2 years ago & I'll admit right now that it was the TV series Moonshiners that got me fired up initially (yeah I know don't even go there)!
Been brewing ale for much longer though & this has given me a fairly good understanding of mashing & fermenting various types of 'biological matter' although I mainly stick to grain (corn, rye, barley), just like the taste of this combo but I do intend to get a bit more adventurous in future, I've been getting nagged to make some Gin so I reckon this will be the next project.
Only been making 5 gallon batches of mash/wash at a time & using the same little 3 gallon pot still that I made from a pressure cooker 2 years ago although I have just started experimenting with a thumper doing single runs & I'm liking this so far.

As I learn more about distilling then I hope to be able to contribute something back to this amazing resource.

Best regards from Bristol UK!
